Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize lifesaving care
• Provide skilled nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document all care thoroughly
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient flow
• Stabilize and prepare patients for transfer or admission when needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace while adhering to infection control

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (Hawaii license or applicable compact licensure)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred or required
• Previous Emergency Department or ER experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, IV skills, and the ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Current CPR certification and any facility-required clearances

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills with rapid decision-making
• Trauma and critical care fundamentals appropriate to ED practice
• Medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care proficiency
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and clear, timely documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills under pressure
