Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit with skill and compassion
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care thoroughly
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to create and follow individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support recovery
• Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring safety, dignity, and high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain one
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or attainable
• Clinical experience in Med/Surg nursing preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training are welcome to apply
• Comfort and stamina for 12.5-hour shifts with reliable attendance
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing practices and protocols
• Proficient medication administration and electronic charting
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Skilled in patient assessment, wound care basics, and post-op care
• Team-oriented mindset with good patient education abilities
