Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, safe med/surg and pediatric nursing care to patients
- Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient condition closely
- Administer medications and treatments according to facility policy
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the care team to create meaningful care plans
- Document patient care clearly and accurately in the medical record
- Participate fully in orientation and ongoing training to maintain high standards
Qualifications
- Current RN license in California (or eligibility for California licensure)
- BLS required; PALS preferred given pediatric population
- Experience or comfort working in med/surg and pediatric settings
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively on a team
- Ability to pass background check and required screenings
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment and clinical monitoring
- Familiarity with pediatric growth, development and family-centered care
- Proficiency in medication administration and basic IV care
- Competence in wound care, post-operative and acute care principles
- Clear and timely electronic charting and documentation practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical environment
