Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high quality respiratory care to pediatric patients at Shriners Children’s Dayton
• Assess, monitor, and document patient respiratory status and response to interventions
• Administer respiratory therapies and maintain equipment safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on respiratory treatments and home care
• Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to maintain competence and compliance

Qualifications

• Current Ohio Respiratory Care license or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Credentialed as CRT or RRT preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; pediatric certifications preferred
• Experience caring for pediatric patients is highly valued given the facility context
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility policy
• Reliable communication skills and comfort working collaboratively on a pediatric care team

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Respiratory Care required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for respiratory status and clinical decision making
• Proficiency with respiratory equipment including ventilators and airway devices
• Accurate documentation and charting skills
• Ability to teach and support families in respiratory care techniques
• Comfort working in a pediatric specialty environment and adapting to varied caseloads
