Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive care nursing for adult patients in the PCU
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic data to guide care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately in the medical record
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Contribute to unit efficiency and patient flow while maintaining compassionate patient care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Texas license or compact RN eligible preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or progressive care nursing experience
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or required per facility policy
• Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and collaborate within a fast-paced team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• IV medication administration and titration
• Critical thinking and prioritization in higher-acuity settings
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) charting and documentation
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
