Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit
- Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate excellent patient care
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes quickly, and escalate when needed
- Educate patients and families to support recovery and safe discharge
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
- Support unit initiatives for quality improvement and patient safety
Qualifications
- Current RN license in New Hampshire or eligibility for licensure
- Experience or interest in Medical-Surgical nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication, clinical judgment and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospital setting
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, ASN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough patient assessment and clinical observation
- Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
- Effective documentation in electronic health record systems
- Infection control and patient safety practices
- Critical thinking, time management and prioritization
- Collaborative approach to working with physicians, therapists and support staff
