Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit
Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate excellent patient care
Monitor patient status, recognize changes quickly, and escalate when needed
Educate patients and families to support recovery and safe discharge
Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
Support unit initiatives for quality improvement and patient safety

Qualifications

Current RN license in New Hampshire or eligibility for licensure
Experience or interest in Medical-Surgical nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
Strong communication, clinical judgment and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospital setting

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, ASN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Thorough patient assessment and clinical observation
Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
Effective documentation in electronic health record systems
Infection control and patient safety practices
Critical thinking, time management and prioritization
Collaborative approach to working with physicians, therapists and support staff
