Shift Type: Clinic: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (day); Night call: 5:00 PM - 8:00 AM; 24-hour call: 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM; rotating on-call schedule approximately 1:6 with weekend coverage required (rotating days and nights including weekends)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $350 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality general urology care in clinic and on hospital call
• Perform common urologic procedures including cystoscopy, vasectomy, prostate biopsy, TURP, ureteroscopy, and ESWL
• Deliver perioperative care and participate in OR cases such as nephrectomy and cystectomy
• Round on inpatients while coordinating with the hospitalist team
• Respond to consults and callbacks while prioritizing patient safety and timely care
• Work collaboratively with nursing and support staff to maintain high patient volume flow (20-25 patients/day)
• Participate in on-call rotations, including night and 24-hour coverage, and manage ED consults

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completion of an accredited Urology residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Urology (board eligible considered)
• Active DEA registration and current BLS certification
• Minimum 3 months availability for locum coverage
• Comfortable with high patient volumes and fast-paced clinic and OR environments
• Ability to provide collegial team-based care and strong patient/customer service

Education

• MD or DO
• Completion of Urology residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Urology

Knowledge & Skills

• Bread and butter urology procedures and clinic workflows
• Operating room experience including open and endoscopic urologic surgery
• Experience with cystoscopy, TURP, ureteroscopy, prostate biopsy, nephrectomy, and cystectomy
• Familiarity with Epic EMR and electronic documentation
• On-call management skills including triage, consults, and callbacks
• Robotic surgery exposure is a plus but not required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for a busy department
