Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for adult ICU patients, prioritizing safety and excellence
• Manage advanced lines and devices such as central lines, arterial lines, CRRT, EVD and Camino ICP
• Perform and assist with procedures including chest tube management and percutaneous tracheostomy care
• Monitor and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions with clear, timely communication
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner EMR to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered plans
• Support unit operations during staffing challenges while maintaining high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state of assignment) and current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience with trauma and/or surgical ICU background preferred
• Comfort and experience with CRRT, EVD, arterial/CVC lines, wound vacs and ventilator management
• Experience with Cerner EMR or similar electronic charting systems preferred
• Strong teamwork orientation and ability to adapt in fast-paced critical care environments
• TNCC or ATCN certifications are a plus but not mandatory

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Central line, arterial line and chest tube management
• Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) operation and troubleshooting
• Neuromonitoring familiarity (EVD, Camino ICP) and neurocritical care basics
• Peri-procedural care for percutaneous tracheostomy and other ICU procedures
• Proficient Cerner EMR documentation and order verification
• Strong communication, situational awareness and teamwork skills
