Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, safe, and skilled nursing care to residents during the night shift
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document per facility policy
- Monitor resident conditions, communicate changes to the care team, and escalate concerns promptly
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge processes when needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support rehab goals and comfort
- Maintain accurate, timely charting and ensure compliance with facility and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license (appropriate to the role) — local licensure required
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfortable working the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shift
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Previous experience in long-term care or rehab settings is a plus
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program (for LPN) or Associate/Bachelor of Science in Nursing (for RN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and safe nursing practices
- Basic wound care and restorative nursing techniques
- Accurate charting and electronic medical record familiarity
- Infection control, resident safety, and fall prevention strategies
- Effective communication with residents, families, and the care team
