Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Provide compassionate hands-on care and support to enhance residents’ comfort and dignity
• Measure and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Maintain clean, safe environments by following infection control and facility protocols
• Document resident care accurately and communicate effectively with the care team and families
• Support recreational and social activities to promote resident engagement and wellbeing

Qualifications

• GNA certification or equivalent nursing assistant certification required
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with older adults and a desire to provide respectful, person-centered care
• Reliable, punctual, and able to handle physical demands of the role (standing, lifting, assisting residents)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Previous long-term care or geriatric experience is a plus but new graduates with certification are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• GNA or CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, charting, and observing changes in condition
• Understanding of ADLs (activities of daily living) and mobility assistance techniques
• Familiarity with infection prevention, safe patient handling, and hygiene protocols
• Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity when working with older adults
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs in a busy setting
• Teamwork mindset and clear verbal/written communication
