Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in the assigned clinical area
• Perform thorough assessments and develop nursing care plans to support optimal outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following facility protocols
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and support staff to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and supporting unit goals

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure (eligible to work in New Mexico preferred)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS, PALS, or other specialty certifications encouraged where relevant
• Comfortable working independently on per diem night shifts and adapting to changing patient needs
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and time management skills
• Professional communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of adult nursing care, med administration, and wound care basics
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to triage priorities, manage acuity, and escalate concerns effectively
• Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and patient advocacy
• Team-oriented approach and the ability to mentor less experienced staff
