Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric patients, supporting daily living activities with dignity and respect
- Assist with bathing, dressing, mobility, and personal hygiene, prioritizing patient comfort and safety
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes in patient condition promptly
- Support nursing staff with ADL assistance and safe patient transfers
- Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and the care team
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility policies for infection control and safety
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfort working with geriatric populations and assisting with ADLs
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-first mindset
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care skills and familiarity with ADLs
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection prevention and proper PPE use
- Good documentation and observation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
