Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care during evening and overnight hours with compassion and clinical precision
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following facility policies and best practices
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and transitions
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions to support recovery
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and handoff communication at shift change
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and contributing to quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or compact licensure eligibility
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced cardiac or specialty certifications such as ACLS preferred where applicable
• Per diem availability for evening/overnight shifts and flexibility to cover varying days
• Demonstrated clinical judgment and strong patient communication skills
• Previous acute care or relevant clinical experience preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid assessment and critical thinking skills for acute and changing patient conditions
• Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and accurate charting
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced overnight environment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient education abilities
