Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in the assigned unit
- Assess patient status, monitor vital signs, and intervene as needed
- Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to create and update individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
- Educate patients and families about condition, care plan, and discharge instructions
- Escalate concerns appropriately and participate in clinical handoffs to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse licensure (RN) — New Mexico licensure or compact status as applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications encouraged
- Experience in acute care or relevant clinical setting preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work night shift and adapt to changing patient needs
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Completion of an accredited nursing program and active RN license
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and patient monitoring
- Medication administration and documentation
- Electronic health record (EHR) charting familiarity
- Infection control and safety best practices
- Patient and family education techniques
- Team collaboration and handoff communication
