Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate basic care to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and resident observations accurately
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Support residents with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing in a respectful manner
- Communicate changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly and clearly
- Help create a warm, home-like environment that promotes dignity and independence
- Participate in infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe care area
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification or license (Certified Nursing Assistant) — New Mexico or eligible to obtain
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required health screenings
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and supporting a diverse resident population
- Previous long-term care or rehabilitation experience is a plus but new grads are welcome
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe resident handling
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with both residents and staff
- Observation and documentation skills to accurately report resident status
- Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude when supporting residents
- Familiarity with infection control and resident safety best practices
