Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients during overnight shifts
• Administer medications and closely monitor patient responses and vital signs
• Collaborate with RNs and the interdisciplinary team to support safe, effective care
• Document patient assessments, interventions and progress accurately in the chart
• Assist with basic clinical procedures and wound care under facility protocols
• Maintain patient safety and infection control standards throughout the shift
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to answer questions and provide reassurance

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered LPN license for New Mexico (or compact privileges if applicable)
• Completion of an accredited LPN/Vocational Nursing program
• BLS/CPR certification (current)
• Prior clinical experience as an LPN preferred but new grads with strong clinical training are welcome
• Ability to work independently overnight and stay organized during 12+ hour shifts
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/Vocational Nursing program; state LPN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medication administration and bedside nursing fundamentals
• Familiarity with charting and electronic health records
• Understanding of infection control best practices and patient safety principles
• Good assessment skills and the ability to prioritize tasks on busy night shifts
• Professional bedside manner and effective communication with patients and care teams
• Basic wound care and vital sign monitoring skills
