Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, helping them feel safe and comfortable
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to nursing staff
- Support a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and their families
- Document care activities accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
- Build trusting relationships with residents through patience, empathy, and consistent care
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for elder care
- Available to work evening per-diem shifts (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident dignity
- Skill in assisting with ADLs and safe resident transfers
- Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition clearly
- Familiarity with charting and basic documentation practices
- Team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills
- Reliable time management and adaptability in a fast-paced care setting
