Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition accurately and promptly
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and families to support coordinated care
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Document resident interactions and care in accordance with facility standards
Qualifications
- Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care to older adults
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; reliable and punctual
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfort and confidence assisting with ADLs and mobility
- Knowledge of basic infection control and patient safety practices
- Skillful at taking and recording vital signs and observations
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
- Ability to build rapport with residents and work collaboratively with care teams
