Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Take and record vital signs and observe changes in resident condition for timely reporting
• Provide attentive, person-centered care that promotes independence and comfort
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with nurses and the care team
• Help create a warm, supportive environment that respects resident preferences and routines

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfort working with geriatric populations and those with cognitive or mobility limitations
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent recommended
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care and geriatrics-minded approaches to patient dignity
• Skill taking vitals, observing changes, and reporting concerns accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Ability to assist with ADLs and safe patient handling techniques
• Basic documentation skills and comfort using electronic or paper charting
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for resident interaction
