Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting with dignity and compassion
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Take and record vital signs and observe changes in resident condition for timely reporting
- Provide attentive, person-centered care that promotes independence and comfort
- Document care accurately and communicate clearly with nurses and the care team
- Help create a warm, supportive environment that respects resident preferences and routines
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfort working with geriatric populations and those with cognitive or mobility limitations
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent recommended
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care and geriatrics-minded approaches to patient dignity
- Skill taking vitals, observing changes, and reporting concerns accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Ability to assist with ADLs and safe patient handling techniques
- Basic documentation skills and comfort using electronic or paper charting
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for resident interaction
