Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate nursing care to adults on the BMT and inpatient oncology unit
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients safe and stable
• Administer and manage IV therapies, infusions, and blood products with attention to safety
• Care for central lines, PICC lines and implanted ports including blood draws and access
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies and participate in Rapid Response when needed
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (Pharmacy, Respiratory, PT, Social Work, Radiology) to coordinate care
• Document accurately in Epic and communicate abnormal lab values and changes in condition
• Practice and promote infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Ohio (or compact privileges where applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required with at least 1 year of recent MS/oncology or hematology/oncology experience within the last 3 years
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• ONS Chemotherapy Certification and Oncology Certification are nice-to-have but not required
• Comfort with telemetry monitoring, central line and port care, and blood product administration
• Ability to pass a 72-hour orientation and work as part of a fast-paced transplant/oncology team

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Telemetry systems experience (GE B450 monitors preferred)
• IV therapy, infusion pump (Alaris) competency and peripheral/PICC/central line management
• Administration and monitoring of blood products and chemotherapy procedures
• Infection prevention, isolation precautions and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy
• Strong clinical judgment for oncologic emergencies and sepsis recognition
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting and clear interdisciplinary communication
