Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe transfers and mobility assistance while using proper body mechanics
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotionally supportive care
• Follow individualized care plans and accurately document resident observations and care provided
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Help with mealtime assistance and ensure dietary needs are met
• Maintain infection control standards and keep resident environments clean and safe
• Communicate effectively with teammates and family members to support coordinated care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (state-required) — active and in good standing
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Recent experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a plus
• Current immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility policy
• Compassionate patient focus, strong communication skills, and reliable attendance

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or state-approved nursing assistant program completion

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs and basic resident care
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Basic clinical observation and reporting skills
• Familiarity with infection control and hygiene best practices
• Comfortable with documentation and simple electronic charting
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a care team
