Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care: assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
• Maintain resident safety and dignity while supporting mobility and fall prevention
• Document care accurately and timely in the facility charting system
• Support restorative programs and help residents maintain independence
• Follow infection control policies and help keep the environment clean and safe
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico (required)
• CPR/BLS certification (required or must obtain upon hire)
• Ability to work overnight hours and adapt to per-diem scheduling
• Comfortable assisting with personal care tasks and safe patient handling
• Successful completion of background check and required immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• Completion of an approved CNA training program and high school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with ADLs, transfers, and basic resident care
• Able to take and record vital signs accurately
• Understanding of infection prevention and OSHA/HIPAA basics
• Knowledgeable in safe patient handling and fall prevention
• Comfortable with electronic charting or paper documentation
• Compassionate, observant, and dependable — great bedside manner matters
