Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents — bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility assistance
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff to ensure timely care
• Assist with safe transfers and positioning to promote resident comfort and fall prevention
• Support mealtime needs and feeding assistance when required
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations in resident charts
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep residents safe
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — current and in good standing
• Previous experience caring for elderly residents is a plus, but enthusiastic beginners are welcome
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful bedside manner
• Comfort working nights and flexible, per diem scheduling

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, mobility support
• Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident dignity
• Good documentation and observation skills
• Infection prevention and safe handling techniques
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize resident needs
