Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, focusing on safety, dignity, and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the clinical team promptly
- Support mealtime and nutrition needs, observing intake and preferences
- Maintain accurate resident records and communicate clearly with colleagues
- Contribute to a warm, respectful environment that promotes independence and well-being
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
- Experience or comfort working in geriatric nursing or long-term care settings preferred
- Ability to work the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift on a per diem basis
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approach
- Skill in assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living)
- Basic observation and reporting of changes in condition
- Patient safety, infection prevention basics, and safe transfer techniques
- Friendly, respectful bedside manner and strong teamwork
