Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
• Take and record basic vital signs, intake/output, and other routine observations as directed
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in meaningful interactions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow facility policies for resident care
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety procedures

Qualifications

• Valid Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in the state of Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful demeanor
• Reliable transportation and the flexibility to work per diem shifts
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus but enthusiastic learners encouraged to apply

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
• Knowledge of infection control principles and proper PPE use
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes accurately
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and the care team
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
