Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to the care team clearly and promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility support following facility protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation of care, vitals, and resident interactions
• Support mealtime assistance and feeding when needed, promoting dignity and comfort
• Follow infection control, safety procedures, and facility policies to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations and assisting with ADLs
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility immunization requirements
• Dependable, team-oriented, and strong communication skills
• Previous long-term care or assisted living experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA or nursing assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused caregiving
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, assisting with hygiene, mobility support
• Good documentation practices and comfort using electronic or paper charting
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to reassure and comfort residents
• Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care setting
