Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care to residents and support their daily living activities
- Administer medications and treatments accurately according to physician orders
- Monitor, assess and document vital signs and patient condition with attention to detail
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain clear, timely charting and documentation to support continuity of care
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications and self-care needs
- Support admissions, discharges and safe patient transfers while maintaining dignity and respect
Qualifications
- Required: Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Preferred: Prior LPN experience in long-term care, skilled nursing or similar settings
- Preferred: Travel nursing or per diem experience and comfort with short-term assignments
- Strong communication skills, professionalism and ability to work well within a team
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent vocational training
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Skilled in patient assessment, wound care basics and vital sign interpretation
- Familiarity with infection control procedures and safety protocols
- Solid charting skills and comfort using electronic medical records or digital documentation
- Excellent time management, prioritization and teamwork abilities
- Empathy, patient advocacy and strong interpersonal skills
