Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and toileting with dignity
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Take and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
• Provide compassionate bedside care and companionship to residents
• Document care accurately in resident charts and communicate clearly with the care team
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Respond calmly and professionally to resident needs and emergency situations

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Successful completion of a state-approved CNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADL assistance and resident hygiene practices
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
• Good observational skills and ability to report changes in resident condition
• Basic charting and documentation skills; comfort learning electronic records
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with older adults
