Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to elderly patients, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Perform routine vital signs monitoring and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Support safe transfers and mobility assistance, using proper body mechanics
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Contribute to a positive resident environment by engaging patients in meaningful interaction

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification required
• Experience caring for geriatric or long-term care populations is preferred
• Comfort working night shifts and adaptable to per diem scheduling
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first attitude
• Ability to pass required background checks, health screenings, and facility onboarding

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and elder patient needs
• Basic clinical skills: measuring vital signs, assisting with ADLs, safe transfers
• Infection control and proper use of PPE
• Clear documentation and reporting practices
• Compassionate bedside manner and ability to de-escalate or calm anxious patients
