Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric patients
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe mobility and transfers while using proper body mechanics
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident chart
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote each resident’s dignity and comfort

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting personal care needs
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and procedures

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamental knowledge of geriatric care principles and elder safety
• Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) assistance
• Basic vital signs monitoring and observation skills
• Good documentation and time-management habits
• Infection control practices and adherence to PPE guidance
• Compassionate bedside manner and clear communication with residents and families
