Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met
- Document care provided accurately and communicate clearly during shift handoffs
- Contribute to a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and families
Qualifications
- Class: GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — required (as listed on the order)
- Comfort working in long-term care/geriatric settings and a genuine interest in elder care
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and resident care plans
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care techniques and safe resident handling
- Comfort with documentation and communicating observations to nurses
- Infection control awareness and adherence to facility procedures
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach and strong interpersonal skills
