Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist MRI technologists with patient preparation and positioning to ensure high-quality imaging
• Perform patient screening for MRI safety and contraindications, maintaining a safe environment
• Support patient flow by escorting and communicating clearly with patients and families
• Prepare and maintain the MRI suite, ensuring equipment and rooms are clean and ready
• Accurately document patient information and assist with electronic charting workflows
• Collaborate with the radiology team and travelers to deliver compassionate, timely care
• Respond to call coverage needs after midnight as part of the on-call rotation

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years current MRI experience (required)
• Experience with GE HDXT (16.0/23.0) equipment (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS (AHA) certification (required)
• Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
• Willingness to work weekends and evenings and to take call as needed
• Own reliable vehicle for local travel to the facility
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past 2 years of employment (required)
• Must include permanent address in profile; Berkshire Health System will not consider travelers who reside within 50 miles of the facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid working knowledge of MRI safety principles and screening procedures
• Familiarity with patient positioning and comfort techniques for MRI exams
• Basic familiarity with GE HDXT MRI workflows and equipment setup
• Experience navigating Meditech Expanse or similar electronic health record systems
• Strong communication and patient-service skills
• Attention to detail for documentation and room/equipment readiness
• Teamwork mindset — always working with another tech or aide, never solo
