Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, developmentally appropriate nursing care to pediatric patients (up to a 1:3 ratio)
• Deliver family-centered care, supporting parental rooming-in and involvement in care plans
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and skills checklists (pediatric and medical-surgical) current to one year
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including respiratory and IV therapists, and Family Birthplace staff for backup support
• Float to Med/Surg or Post-Partum as needed and apply adult medical-surgical skills when required
• Respond promptly to emergencies using unit safety systems (panic badge) and established protocols
• Participate in non-billable orientation and adapt quickly to Meditech Expanse workflows when applicable

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license required (must be uploaded with profile)
• Minimum 3 years recent pediatric nursing experience (required)
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)
• Pediatric skills checklist and Medical-Surgical skills checklist current to 1 year (required)
• Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
• Adult medical-surgical experience preferred to support float needs
• BSN preferred
• Must have permanent address listed in profile and own reliable vehicle for assignment

Education

• RN required (Massachusetts RN License)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric assessment and clinical skills appropriate for a small community hospital unit
• Experience with family-centered care and supporting parental involvement
• Familiarity with medical-surgical nursing principles to support float assignments
• Comfort using Meditech Expanse or similar EMR systems (preferred)
• Ability to work independently on a small unit while coordinating backup resources
• Good situational awareness and emergency response skills
