Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care and monitoring for assigned patients during overnight hours
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Perform regular patient assessments and report changes promptly to the care team
- Document care, observations, and patient responses in the medical record
- Collaborate with RNs, providers, and support staff to ensure continuity of care
- Assist with patient comfort, safety, and mobility while promoting dignity
- Support admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed during your shift
Qualifications
- Active LPN license (recommended to be valid for West Virginia or eligible to practice)
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Comfortable with overnight/night shift responsibilities and critical thinking under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting is a plus
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse / LPN program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication administration and documentation skills
- Basic assessment skills and ability to recognize patient deterioration
- Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices
- Ability to operate common clinical equipment and follow care plans
- Good time management and prioritization during busy overnight shifts
