Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living—bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting—with dignity and compassion
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in meaningful activities
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records
• Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies to maintain a healthy environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and communicate effectively with families

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or state-recognized nursing assistant credential
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or state CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with resident care and ADLs
• Basic vital signs monitoring and documentation skills
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safe handling procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for resident and family interaction
• Basic computer or electronic charting familiarity is helpful
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
