Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming while preserving dignity
• Support safe mobility including transfers and ambulation with appropriate precautions
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Help create a warm, engaging environment that promotes resident comfort and independence

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (required) or equivalent certified nursing assistant credential
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations and sensitive to elder needs
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility policy
• Successful background check and drug screen as required by employer
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and procedures

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• State GNA certification or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, feeding assistance, and toileting support
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
• Ability to observe, record, and report changes in resident status
• Teamwork and flexibility in a fast-paced long-term care setting
• Compassionate approach to dementia care and behavior management strategies
