Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming while preserving dignity
- Support safe mobility including transfers and ambulation with appropriate precautions
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
- Help create a warm, engaging environment that promotes resident comfort and independence
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (required) or equivalent certified nursing assistant credential
- Comfortable working with geriatric populations and sensitive to elder needs
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility policy
- Successful background check and drug screen as required by employer
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and procedures
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- State GNA certification or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, feeding assistance, and toileting support
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Ability to observe, record, and report changes in resident status
- Teamwork and flexibility in a fast-paced long-term care setting
- Compassionate approach to dementia care and behavior management strategies
