Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents to support dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Monitor vital signs and observe changes in condition; promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and fall-prevention measures during transfers and ambulation
• Document care accurately and timely, keeping resident records up to date
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents

Qualifications

• Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Willingness to work night shifts and flexible per diem schedule
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and any required health screenings
• Strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine passion for caring for older adults
• Previous long-term care or geriatric experience is a plus but compassionate attitude matters most

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident-centered care and dignity-preserving practices
• Skilled in ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) and basic mobility assistance
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Good charting habits and timely reporting to nursing staff
• Strong teamwork, time management, and observational skills
• Comfort working nights and adapting to changing resident needs
