Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients in the Seaford center
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings in the medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to develop and follow care plans
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and follow-up instructions
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining patient dignity
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies with calm professionalism
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Delaware or authorization to practice in DE
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program
- Comfortable with medication administration, charting, and basic wound care
- Professional, patient-focused attitude with strong teamwork and communication skills
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is preferred but not required
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and vital signs monitoring
- Medication administration and documentation
- Wound care basics and infection control practices
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
- Strong communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
