Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and support their dignity
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Take and report vital signs, observe changes, and communicate with the nursing team
- Accurately document care and resident observations in facility records
- Support safe transfers and mobility assistance using proper body mechanics
- Maintain infection control and a clean, safe environment for residents
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required
- T-CNA listed as a primary skill/credential — recognized and welcomed
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and performing basic clinical tasks
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to work per-diem shifts and adapt to facility routines
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient-centered caregiving and respect for resident dignity
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, bathing, feeding, toileting, mobility support
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
- Clear, timely documentation and reporting
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Collaborative teamwork and positive communication with staff and families
