Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and patients
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Take and record vital signs and report meaningful changes to the nursing team
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate observations clearly
- Follow infection control protocols and promote a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with nurses and support staff to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential – T-CNA designation noted/preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
- Reliable transportation and professional, dependable work habits
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamental nursing assistant skills: bathing, feeding, toileting, transfers
- Basic vital sign measurement and observation of patient status
- Comfortable following care plans and reporting changes to RNs
- Good communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Time management and ability to prioritize direct care tasks
- Familiarity with maintaining resident dignity and privacy during care
