Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the emergency department
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care across acuity levels
- Float between units as needed while maintaining continuity and safety of care
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Respond to emergency situations using ACLS/PALS/BLS protocols as appropriate
- Document assessments, interventions and patient status clearly and promptly
- Complete required competency testing and maintain compliance documentation within required timeframes
Qualifications
- Active RN license (verify via Nursys)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS required for pediatric emergencies
- DCI/BVP credential as listed
- Experience in Emergency Room nursing and comfort with 12-hour day shifts
- Willingness and ability to float between units and work weekends
- Completion of facility compliance requirements (vaccinations, TB, drug screen, fit test) prior to or within onboarding windows
- Comfort completing prime/competency assessments (pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, core competencies, skills and specialty exams)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
- Pediatric and adult resuscitation knowledge (PALS, ACLS) and rhythm interpretation
- Medication safety and basic pharmacology knowledge
- Ability to adapt quickly across units and patient populations
- Excellent communication, documentation, and team collaboration skills
- Familiarity with compliance workflows and pre-employment health screening requirements
