Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and support for residents' activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting while promoting dignity and independence
• Take and accurately record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care clearly and promptly in resident charts or electronic records
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and family members to support individualized care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Be an attentive listener and positive presence for residents, offering emotional support

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, current in New Mexico
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in long term care or skilled nursing preferred but new CNAs with strong bedside skills are encouraged to apply
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Ability to pass facility background checks and required health screenings
• Local candidates only as this is a local per diem assignment

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong resident-centered care and basic nursing skills
• Good communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Comfortable with charting and basic documentation
• Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols and resident rights
• Reliable time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Empathy, patience and a positive attitude when supporting residents
