Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents—assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and alert nursing staff to any changes in condition
• Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain a clean, comfortable environment and adhere to infection-control standards
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document resident care and observations promptly and accurately in facility records
• Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care and resident safety

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (T-CNA credential noted/accepted)
• Valid state certification (WV) or ability to obtain state certification prior to assignment
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort working 12-hour night shifts and providing hands-on care in a skilled nursing setting
• Clear background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations) per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• CNA certification from an accredited program (state-approved)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident hygiene assistance
• Knowledge of safe transfer techniques and fall prevention
• Ability to take and document vital signs and basic patient observations
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE use
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and family members
• Reliable time management and documentation habits
