Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate pediatric and adolescent patients using developmental testing and clinical observation
- Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care focused on developmental treatment and activities of daily living
- Document treatment, reassessments, and plan of care thoroughly in Epic to support continuity and billing
- Provide targeted interventions for diagnoses such as autism and developmental delay
- Collaborate with PT, SLP, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and outpatient follow up
- Float into acute care when outpatient census is low to support hospital-based patient needs
- Maintain accurate billing/documentation practices and support efficient patient throughput
Qualifications
- Minimum: 1 year of occupational therapy experience, able to work proficiently and independently
- First-time travel therapists are welcome; travel experience is not required
- BLS certification preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Familiarity with Epic charting preferred
- Experience in pediatrics, early intervention, autism care, or acute care settings is a strong plus
- Comfort managing an average daily patient load of about 7
Knowledge & Skills
- Pediatric occupational therapy techniques and developmental treatment
- Assessment and evaluation skills for developmental delays and autism
- Strong documentation, billing, and plan of care development
- Ability to perform reassessments and adjust treatment plans
- Experience with activities of daily living interventions
- Familiarity with Epic electronic charting system
- Comfort floating between outpatient clinic and hospital acute care when needed
