Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality occupational therapy interventions to support patient independence and meaningful daily living
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans addressing ADLs, adaptive equipment, and functional goals
- Carry out therapeutic activities and educate patients and families to promote long-term outcomes
- Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and other care team members to coordinate care
- Document patient progress clearly and promptly in the clinical record
- Adapt interventions based on patient response and changing clinical needs to ensure safety and effectiveness
- Support discharge planning and communicate recommendations for ongoing care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential — required
- Valid authorization to work in California and ability to comply with facility requirements
- Comfort traveling between assigned sites (Windsor Hampton and Stockton Nursing) as noted in the schedule
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based care and patient education
- Reliable professional presence, dependability, and commitment to patient-centered care
Education
- Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program (Associate degree or equivalent preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience with ADL assessment and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Skilled in developing functional, goal-directed treatment plans
- Ability to educate patients, families and caregivers in practical strategies
- Good documentation practices and timely charting
- Strong time management and caseload prioritization
- Collaborative teamwork and effective communication across disciplines
