Location: Marrero, LA

Start Date: 04-29-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 10.5-hour PACU shifts (exact start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed) — RN - PACU

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality post-anesthesia nursing care to PACU patients, monitoring vitals and recovery progress
Assess patients’ airway, breathing and circulation, and intervene promptly when needed
Coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure smooth handoffs and clear communication
Administer medications and pain management interventions per protocols and physician orders
Document patient status and interventions accurately and timely in the medical record
Educate patients and families about recovery expectations and discharge instructions

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact license where applicable)
Clinical PACU experience preferred; previous post-anesthesia care experience highly valued
BLS required; ACLS preferred or encouraged
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in post-anesthesia assessment and recovery protocols
Proficient with medication administration and titration in PACU settings
Excellent communication and teamwork with surgical and anesthesia teams
Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
Patient-centered approach with focus on safety and comfort
Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize care effectively
