Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare patient charts and manage InBasket tasks so providers have what they need
• Room patients and obtain vital signs including pulse oximetry and height/weight
• Perform 12-lead EKG/ECG and assist with heart monitor placement
• Handle prescription refill requests and pharmacy coordination with care
• Conduct telephone triage and follow-up/post-op calls to support patient recovery
• Manage scheduling and appointment coordination across clinic sites
• Assist with authorization forms and insurance verification when required
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms for efficient clinic flow
• Float between clinics within your scope to meet facility needs when asked

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• MA-C preferred; MA-R acceptable if needed (pending license considered)
• Minimum: at least 6 months working as a Medical Assistant; up to 1 year preferred in clinic settings
• Experience with EPIC charting is required
• Comfortable performing EKG/ECG and basic cardiology clinic tasks
• Reliable personal transportation required due to travel between clinic sites
• First-time MAs accepted — training and support available

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Medical Assistant credential preferred (MA-C preferred; MA-R acceptable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with EPIC electronic charting
• Skilled in taking vital signs and performing 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Experience with heart monitor placement and post-op patient follow-up
• Strong telephone triage and patient communication skills
• Familiarity with refill workflows, inbasket management, and chart prep
• Scheduling and appointment coordination experience
• Knowledge of insurance verification and authorization form processes
• Ability to stock and maintain clinic supplies and assist with office duties
