Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately and safely for the facility
• Support medication inventory management, restocking, and record keeping
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare staff to ensure timely delivery of medications
• Follow facility policies and procedures, including controlled substance handling and documentation
• Participate in orientation and training to maintain high standards of practice
• Communicate clearly with clinical teams to support patient care and operational needs

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician title/class indicated; prior pharmacy technician experience preferred
• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent on-the-job experience
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred where applicable
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required state registration or facility clearances
• Willingness to complete background checks and security clearances typical for correctional facilities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; pharmacy technician certification or training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication dispensing and packaging best practices
• Inventory control and accurate record keeping
• Familiarity with pharmacy workflows and medication safety principles
• Good communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Basic computer skills for medication records and inventory systems
