Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Assess, monitor and document patient condition, implementing physician orders and standards of care
• Perform a variety of nursing procedures with professional knowledge and independent judgment
• Coordinate care with providers, ancillary staff and families to support positive patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge needs and follow-up care
• Advocate for patients while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and nursing best practices

Qualifications

• Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the U.S., Puerto Rico or a U.S. territory
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an acute or sub-acute care setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association — current
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association — current
• Complete Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) within six months of hire
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) completed within six months of hire
• Ability to work independently and confidently manage nursing assignments

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical and acute/sub-acute clinical skills
• Proficient in nursing care procedures, patient assessment and documentation
• Comfortable working independently and prioritizing complex patient needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a culturally diverse environment
• Cultural sensitivity and a willingness to engage respectfully with Navajo, Hopi and Southern Paiute communities
