Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee unit operations as the RN Unit Manager to ensure high-quality resident care
- Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff to maintain best practices in skilled nursing and long-term care
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans and ensure timely, accurate clinical documentation
- Ensure regulatory compliance and promote safety, dignity, and quality outcomes for residents
- Collaborate with leadership and families to address care goals and improve resident satisfaction
- Manage daily clinical workflow, admissions, and staffing to keep the unit running smoothly
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maine required
- Experience in unit management or charge nurse roles, preferably in Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care
- Proven leadership and staff supervision skills with strong communication abilities
- Solid clinical judgment in geriatric and long-term care nursing
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain per facility policy
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Nursing diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of skilled nursing and long-term care best practices
- Clinical assessment, care planning, and medication administration skills
- Experience with regulatory standards and quality improvement processes
- Effective team leadership, conflict resolution, and coaching skills
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting care accurately
